You've come to know Cerdafied as a source of startup tales, people involved in them and a whole bunch of random minutiae. Now you can enjoy it in a whole host of new ways, all over the social web, and well - everywhere for that matter. Afterall, you're nobody unless you have your own API! Yes, you heard it right... developers can now mash up their apps with Cerdafied!

Truth is, I've spent a lot of time on my new API. It's not time I particularly have, given the responsibility I have here at Jangl. But after watching the way so many apps have proliferated, I felt that -- if I was going to invest the time in blogging here, I may as well invest the time in building ways to share it.

With the new Cerdafied API, developers and communities can integrate my content in a variety of ways, and with their own look-and-feel. In fact, I've built out a small server farm, too, set up in the pool house where guests normally stay. This means I can even host your app, as well. I've created tons of support documentation, including a developer wiki and a hosted weekly developer chat, so getting Cerdafied integrated should be a pain-free process.

I've been working with some major developers already and, while I can't name names just yet, here's a preview of what you'll see in coming weeks:

- Been working with a set-top box maker on a keyword-matching technology. Basically, if you're watching any of several news channels, the app "listens" to the CC stream, pulling up snippets of Cerdafied content when a keyword match is made. With one click, you can pull up the blog on your screen and reduce the TV broadcast to a small inset box. When you're done reading, you can restore the screen as needed.

- Also been working with a top-tier, best-of-breed social network on a simple "favorites" app. Basically, when you add friends, they can be sent your favorite Cerdaified post, and can rate it and then find/share their own. Think of it like me replacing Tom on MySpace -- friends with everyone, and Cerdafied content just going crazy-big.

- Lastly -- and this is one I'm pretty excited about -- I'm working with a major QSR chain (that's "quick service restaurant," new industry lingo designed to replace "fast food restaurant"). Essentially, when consumers go through a drive-thru line, they'll see a new screen adjacent to the screens that highlight the product. This new screen will feature a picture of me (it can feature any picture, actually, but right now it's all about "Mike" and "Cerdafied") alongside my latest blog post. That means I'll be cross-promoting occasionally. For example, a post about raising new funding might include a final tagline that reads something like, "Order the new Triple BaconFest for just $1.99, now through May 31." Those posts will be featured on the drive thru screens. How cool is that?

Like I said, there will be more to come. But in the meantime, mark your calendars for Memorial Day weekend, because that's when I'll be hosting CXNW -- Cerdafied by Northwest. Basically, a bunch of us are going to go up to the Mendocino Coast, drink, and talk about Cerdaified mash-ups and whatnot.
